INGENIUM is the Alliance of 10 European universities led by the University of Oviedo. With 172,000 students, 100 faculties and 12,380 teaching and administrative staff, it embodies the heterogeneity of European higher education, diverse in geography, cultural background, organisation and activities. Its aim is to train professionals and citizens capable of contributing to the well-being of society. Diversity in education and research is one of INGENIUM´s key characteristics and distinctive strengths.
The INGENIUM Alliance is strongly committed to European and global challenges. These materialise around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the growth strategy of the European Commission´s European Green Pact (EGP).
The University of Skövde in Sweden is in charge of Work Package 7 - INGENIUM for Sustainable Development. At the University of Oviedo, the Director of Sustainable Mobility Area, David Díaz Reigosa, and the Concepción Arenal Chair of Agenda 2030, represented by its Deputy Director Silvia Gómez Ansón, coordinate this work package.
It aims to raise awareness of sustainable development, both in universities and in society and the business world. INGENIUM universities see their communities and regions as centres of action; campuses and communities are living laboratories for action around the SDGs and the EVP, supporting youth-led dialogue and intergenerational exchange, sharing and shaping change.
